Executive benefits are designed specifically for business owners and senior leaders. They go beyond standard group plans to provide business continuity protection, supplemental retirement savings above IRS qualified plan limits, and key person coverage. These solutions address risks and goals unique to high earners and business leadership, like protecting business overhead during disability or deferring compensation tax-efficiently.

If you become disabled and unable to work, the policy reimburses your business for monthly fixed overhead costs, rent, utilities, payroll, insurance premiums, and similar expenses. Benefits typically pay out for 12 to 24 months, giving your business time to either recover or restructure. The premium is tax-deductible as a business expense.

An NQDC plan lets executives defer a portion of their compensation, salary, bonuses, or equity, until a future date, typically retirement. Unlike 401(k) plans, NQDC plans have no IRS contribution limits, so high earners can shelter much more income from current taxes. Deferred amounts grow tax-deferred and are paid out per the plan's schedule.

Premiums on key person life insurance are generally not tax-deductible to the business. However, the death benefit is typically received tax-free, which makes it a powerful tool for offsetting the financial loss of a critical executive. There are also creative structures (like split-dollar arrangements) that can change the tax treatment depending on your goals.

Most packages are fully implemented within 4 to 8 weeks. That includes discovery, plan design, carrier selection, underwriting, and executive presentations. More complex multi-policy packages with NQDC plans can take 8 to 12 weeks due to plan document drafting and compliance review.
